Conclusion



This project provided valuable insights into the operational systems and technology supporting the Miron Student Center at Kean University. Through our site visit and discussions with staff, we gained a deeper understanding of the Center's role as a key component of student life offering essential services, hosting campus events, and promoting both academic and extracurricular engagement. The Center’s use of information systems such as Kean Wise and Instagram demonstrates the important role that technology plays in maintaining efficient processes and fostering a vibrant university community. 

Our analysis highlighted areas where the Student Center excels but also identified opportunities for improvement. By modernizing digital systems, streamlining reservation processes, and introducing tools for better event marketing and student interaction, we proposed actionable solutions aimed at improving both functionality and student satisfaction. 

Above all, this project allowed us to bridge theoretical concepts from Management Information Systems with real-world application. We analyzed key areas such as the value chain, competitive strategy, and operational processes, giving us a firsthand understanding of how institutions like the Student Center leverage technology for enhanced performance and engagement. 

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at the Miron Student Center for their time and cooperation. A special thank you to Mrs. Bost-White for her invaluable insights into scheduling and student interaction, which were instrumental in guiding our analysis. Additionally, we appreciate the support of AI tools in refining our analysis and enhancing the overall presentation. This project has not only broadened my understanding of information systems but also demonstrated how technology can help transform student centers into more efficient, dynamic spaces for campus communities.
